Lucia first completed her Pilates training in Bermuda in 2000 after which she advanced her training in the USA. Later after returning to South Africa when she founded re:form studios in Port Elizabeth at which point she furthered her training with Californian based Rael Isacoqitz of Body Arts and Science International.
Lucia relocated to Cape Town in 2004 and for several years worked out of Body Technology in Tamboerskloof, she completed her Ashtanga Yoga teacher training and wrote/published manuals for Pilates Mat work teacher training which Lucia and Andre taught from Body Technology. Lucia teaches a powerful combination of Pilates and Yoga.
In 2008 Lucia reopened re:form studios in Sea Point.

Marisa's relationship with Pilates was sparked in 2002 when she began practicing Pilates at re:form studios in Port Elizabeth. Her love of Pilates was instant and in 2003 she would begin her teaching career under Lucia Poulter.
In 2004 Marisa became certified through Stott and also completing the ISP course which enables her to also do rehabilitative and pre- and post pregnancy workouts.
Marisa continues to advance her studies through STOTT Pilates and is building on her knowledge of ZENGA as the method is developed and expanded.

Originally from the UK, Sally graduated with a physiotherapy honours degree from the University of Bradford School of Physiotherapy in 1992. Sally has worked in various hospitals and private practices specialising in muscular skeletal injuries and rehabilitation. She continued her training in muscle balancing techniques.
in 1999 Sally moved to Cape Town and trained as a Pilates instructor. She now focuses on clients requiring rehabilitation and utilises a combination of physiotherapy and Pilates techniques to aid in her clients' recovery.

Annie teaches both Classical Yoga and Pilates. She works with yoga as a means to develop consciousness and to make the mind body soul connection. She studied and continues to study yoga in India at Yoga Vidya Gurukul (ashram) under Rishi Dharmajyoti. To add to the effectiveness of Yoga practice, she works with Pilates to strengthen muscles and to correct structural integrity. She studied Swiss Body Pilates under Susan Arena Pepper, former ballerina based in Geneva Switzerland, who developed the Swiss Body Pilates method, and Master teacher Jennifer Paynter who has a deep knowledge of anatomy and is based in Cape Town South Africa. Annie has over 20 years experience with cleansing practices both through diet and various cleansing techniques. After experimenting personally with fasting, detoxification and using food as medicine she shares what she has learned. She studied and continues to study yoga in India at Yoga Vidya Gurukul (ashram) under Rishi Dharmajyoti.
Annie is the owner and founder of Cape Town Retreats and conducts detoxification, Yoga and Pilates retreats in and around Cape Town and runs Yoga retreats and holidays in India.

Marize is a professional dancer trained in ballet, contemporary, modern jazz, Latin and Spanish. She studied and qualified at UCT Ballet School and also qualified as a modern jazz and solo Latina dance teacher.
Her successful career in dance has taken her around the world where she has starred as lead female dancer in musicals, like Cats in its South African tour, and working on cruise ships. After retiring from the stage, she rekindled her love of movement with Pilates.
Marize has completed her Barre Body instructor training and is uniquely qualified to utilise her vast experience to assist and train clients in strength training, rehabilitation as well as toning, sculpting and fitness. Debbie's love and appreciation for movement started from a very young age when she started dancing and later went on to study a 3 year Dance Diploma at UCT. After teaching for a while she decided to broaden her fitness and anatomical knowledge by doing her Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma (ETA) at the Sports Science Institute and then headed off to London to gain some 'worldly experience'. Here she worked in the corporate health industry for 2 years and it was here that she had her first introduction into the Pilates world.
On returning to SA Debbie completed her full qualification with Equlibrium in 2004 and has been teaching groups and private sessions in Sea Point ever since. Her clients vary greatly from professional athletes to those needing rehabilitation and everything in between. She has first hand experience and understanding of pilates through pregnancy having done it twice before an enjoys teaching a 'pensioners' class to a group of more 'mature' clientele.
Debbie continues to study and gain new ideas through many courses,workshops and conferences hosted by BASI and other educators. She even studied acupuncture and Chinese medicine for a year. More recently she completed her Girokinesis course and Kinetic Precision course with Pilates Unlimited.
This very varied background in movement along with the anatomical background gained through the years, allows her to better understand how precision of movement and correct implementation there of, is the key to her clients achieving their goals.

After injuring my ankle in 1999 I was introduced to Pilates. I instantly and absolutely fell in love with everything about it. I qualified as a BASI Pilates teacher with full repertoire and equipment in 2001 and have been teaching (short of two maternity breaks) ever since. I went on to qualify with Body Control international certification a few years later and my road since has been one of physiology and anatomy courses, yoga training, Feldenkrais courses, long walks in the forest and regular group meetings with other Pilates teachers and physiotherapists. I am passionate about teaching Pilates. I believe that our relationship with and attitude towards our bodies is intrinsically connected with our personal health and happiness.
